July FNSI

Very productive time........
I put the binding on a table runner - my husband made the centre blocks (he decided quilting couldn't be that difficult!!!) - it has sat in my UFO pile for a couple of years but the bee has bitten & I'm trying to get through that pile (difficult when new projects just keep calling LOL)

I also put the binding to my Winter Mini Quilt (can't show all of it or I'll spoil the surprise)....

I also worked on these stars - no idea what I'm going to do with them but again they've sat in my UFO pile (I'm ashamed to say for nearly 10 years) - I bought the fabric to cut out stars to go on my first ever quilt and matching curtains for my youngest DD (now 11.5 yrs old); the quilt and curtains are still in use but the remaining stars have filled the stash box since then. Youngest DD suggests we just use these only on the Christmas Tree....  I'm not sure. Any ideas???? I didn't take a photo of the finished items (will post tomorrow).

I also finished a scarf for youngest DD - here she is modelling it :)

Who has the best seat in the house?????

This is Patch our Jack Russell Terrier - unfortunately for Milly (Labrador) she has Small Dog Syndrome and is definitely in charge LOL.

RIP Holly

I took Holly to the vets today; the lymphoma had spread to her mouth and at best she had a few days to live.   I made the very hard decision to have her put to sleep; this was a really hard decision as she was still very happy and full of energy but knowing what was ahead..........
We brought her home and have buried her in the chook pen with her favourite ball and blanket and a beautiful message written by Grace.

Quilting Gallery Mini Spring Quilt Swap

I have to share.... this is the wonderful mini quilt Doris made me as part of the spring mini quilt swap organised by Michele of the Quilting Gallery; how lucky am I .. a bear and a beaver, some soft maple sugar (absolutely divine), a packet of Canadian playing cards and a quilt with beautiful hanger...

Grace and I have the sweet tooth's in our house so we have shared the soft maple sugar (we've never had it before and I would certainly recommend if you like sweets). Thank you so much Doris - you really did spoil me ♥

A few more creations.......

I'd forgotten to share these .......

I haven't decided what to do with them yet; gifts for later in the year most probably .....

Aroona Scout Groups first ever Grey Wolf

I have to share this; my gorgeous girls are members of Aroona Scout Group (formerly Mypolonga Scout Group) in SA. We're a relatively new group; we just had our 5th birthday and my gorgeous Grace has become the first Cub to earn a Grey Wolf Badge/Certificate - for those not in the scouting world it is the highest honour a Cub Scout can achieve - it was a huge amount of work but well deserved ♥ ♥ ♥

She's the only one in the Scout Troop with the very special Grey Wolf Woggle. Unfortunately she doesn't get to wear the uniform; she's now a scout..........

but stay tuned .... her big sister (Emily) has almost finished all the work for the Australian Scout Medallion - the highest award a Scout can achieve

Friday Night with Friends plus lots more........

July Friday Night with Friends
Friday Night with Friends
Busy; busy night (sort of - I did finish off the 2nd Aiming for Accuracy Block on Saturday) but I made a total of 4 blocks .....

A block of love and some other goodies for Jen - life has thrown her some curve balls; these are just to brighten up her day ♥♥♥

Christmas Block Swap for Michell

This is the block Karen asked for so I made two...

I enjoyed making the block but found it a bit tricky.....

I also sorted some fat quarters for the fat quarter swap ...
Birthday girls - Lyndell likes blues......

Kylie likes country and food; so I went with veggies and chocolate (who doesn't like chocolate ♥)

and Lyn likes everything (which made it harder to choose!!)

My July swap partner is Leonie (she lives just down the road from me - sort of 50km away) - I chose bright, happy summery fats for her......

These are the blocks I've made for the Aiming for Accuracy Quilt Along.......

Phew after all that I need a holiday (wishful thinking) but I do have 2 weeks off work to spend with my gorgeous girls and the 2nd week with my wonderful husband ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

Happy Holly

I feel the need to share this - our gorgeous flat coated retriever (Holly) has been diagnosed with lymphoma of her skin. She is only 7 but we are going to have to make the heart breaking decision to have her put to sleep :( She's still a happy chappy but she is losing her fur at a great rate of knots. There is no chance of cure and at best she has 6 months to live - we decided not to have aggressive treatment (chemotherapy) for two reasons - it wouldn't give her a better quality of life or extend it and the costs involved.

Not looking her best but she really is the most gorgeous girl.......
